INCIDENT:
My fifteen year old son pulled the fire alarm after school. No emergency personnel were alerted and the alarm was turned off by staff. My son is an honor roll student and in accelerated classes. He has never had so much as a detention. Kids have pulled fire alarms as long as they've been around. It was a prank and no one was hurt.
CISD RESPONSE:
Three days suspension, 36 days DAEP and a felony charge. There were two other boys with my son at the time. Neither one touched the alarm or had anything to do with it, other than being there. They, too, are being punished in the same way as my son.
OTHER:
Received criminal citation from law enforcement.
