INCIDENT:
August 21,2008
While my son was in Welding class, he and another student filled a plastic bottle with Acetylene and lit it with a torch. Nothing happened. They tried it a second time and a loud pop happened and the bottle was airborne. No injury or damage occurred.
SISD RESPONSE:
He was placed in S.A.C. for two days then placed in alternative program. I appealed the punishment with the principal and was reassured student would be allowed back in school. Now he is being placed in a Juvenile Detention facility. No charges have been filled and the other student was released and allowed back into another school.
OTHER:
My son has never been disciplined or been referred for disrupting class. No criminal intent was meant. He is a good kid and never had any other issues.
